Introduction

Atheist, free-thinker and humanist (am member of Central London Humanist Group) - I'm pleased that CLHG has teamed up with LAAG, and thought this evening's event was great (Dr. Richard Carrier, 14/11/12). I'm looking forward to more LAAG events ...

COMPULSORY Q: Pls describe your position on religion/faith e.g. atheist, naturalist, 'agnostic', religious doubter, religious, OR feel free to give a description that suits you. (This is not to label you, it helps to know the make-up of the group)

COMPULSORY Q: Why do you want to join? (if faith/religion bothers you, what aspects in particular? (Helps us tailor activities to your concerns (within our remit of "peacefully promote reason/atheism")). Pls write as much or as little as you like.

Where did you hear about us?

Via CLHG

(You're welcome to be a social or even a silent member, & there's absolutely no pressure) - but would you like to be involved in actively challenging faith yourself in any way? Petitions, leafleting etc, or something else?

If so, what kind of issues are most emotive for you? What kind of activism do you prefer - humourous/cheeky or more direct? Any other ideas you'd like to share at the moment?

    Hi,
I'm organising a trip to the Darwin Centre this Sat from 4-6, with drinks afterwards, for all who are free from religious dogma. Want to explore whether homosexuality undermines natural selection. Also whether the many archaeological finds indicating human life dated to a time when we were supposed to be apes can all be dismissed.

    Central London Humanists

    Hi Mary.
'Twas a pleasure to meet you again.
I'm sorry I couldn't go to the pub after Christina's gig and talk, -an unexpected phone call made me have to change my plans.
Also... I completely agree with you and Alice. The venue we had was far too formal, a room in a pub would have been much better, and I greatly admire Christina for doing so very well despite that handicap.
Anyway, I'm happy that our Humanist group is doing so well and growing.
    Looking forward...
    With best wishes, from
