COMPULSORY Q (no membership if not answered): Pls describe yr position on religion/faith e.g. atheist, naturalist, 'agnostic', religious doubter, religious, OR any description that best describes you. (Not to label you, just to know group make-up)

Although the existence/nonexistence of God or any mythological/fictional creature of any form can't be 100% proven/disproved, that doesn't discourage me to maintain my opinion that religion in our times is a very dangerous parasite meme for human wellbeing and social development. Likewise, faith is a strong emotional and rational manipulation tool. And all these brings me in the position as presenting myself as an convinced atheist and skeptic.

COMPULSORY Q: Why do you want to join? (if faith/religion bothers you, what aspects in particular? (Helps us tailor activities to your concerns (within our remit of "peacefully promote reason/atheism")). Pls write as much or as little as you like.

Every thing, I guess. Most are ignorance, stubbornly, authority and all the funny and horrible scriptures stories.

Where did you hear about us?

I eager searched for any atheist community in Romania, where I lived, but there where none so active like here in London. Now that I'm here, I just searched the internet.

(You're welcome as a social or even a silent member, & there's absolutely no pressure - but would you want to be involved (at some stage) in actively challenging faith in any way? Petitions, leafleting etc, or something else?

I am willing to contribute with everything that stands in my power to help for a better world.

If so, what kind of issues are most emotive for you? What kind of activism do you prefer - humourous/cheeky or more direct? Any other ideas you'd like to share at the moment?

I would choose both, even though I would like to be added more psychology science into understanding religious tendencies and try resolve some problems abut it.

In the last 6 or 7 years I've become more interested in searching for a better way to understand reality, and, gradually, I've been going through mysticism, conspiracy theories, philosophy, and finally science, with which I fell in love.

What Valentin B. is saying about this Meetup Group

Best people that I've ever met. I guess all atheists are happy being among those who really understand science, nature, reality and human flaws... such as superstition.
