COMPULSORY Q (no membership if not answered): Pls describe yr position on religion/faith e.g. atheist, naturalist, 'agnostic', religious doubter, religious, OR any description that best describes you. (Not to label you, just to know group make-up)

COMPULSORY Q: Why do you want to join? (if faith/religion bothers you, what aspects in particular? (Helps us tailor activities to your concerns (within our remit of "peacefully promote reason/atheism")). Pls write as much or as little as you like.

It is the demon seed that deforms the intellect, the imagination and the lust for life and creates a burdensome guilt about pleasure, humour, love and intimacy. It is everything bad and I can think of no redeeming features. One of my favourite quotes, from Goya, "The sleep of reason brings forth monsters".

Where did you hear about us?

Oh, I knew when you started. Already know a few of you. Also have a long standing membership 'across the road'. I needed to stop getting bogged down in debates until I righted my extremely shaky financial status but so far it's got worse. I looked at some of your other forums and thought they might be useful for some ideas I've got. So my motives are a bit selfish at present. Looking for 'joint venturers' or fellow entrepreneurs. I prefer working with atheists. I prefer doing everything with atheists. Oh stop it! (I'm working on my Frankie Howerd impression)

(You're welcome as a social or even a silent member, & there's absolutely no pressure - but would you want to be involved (at some stage) in actively challenging faith in any way? Petitions, leafleting etc, or something else?

If so, what kind of issues are most emotive for you? What kind of activism do you prefer - humourous/cheeky or more direct? Any other ideas you'd like to share at the moment?

I have a sense of humour which I have sometimes been warned about (?) and I find I get angry before I get scared. Usually. Activism that moves things forward is preferable.

Hi, I'm me. I used to introduce myself as God as a teenager on the basis that no-one could prove I wasn't and the prefects, who were drunk with power really pissed me off.Otherwise I am some water, some other stuff and sometimes too many toxins.
