Working together to get Atheist wisdom onto the agenda - e.g. Right to Die

There are atheists in all the secular/humanist organisations Black and White, Women and Men - but are they combining their resources and work together - to overcome the lack of atheist participation in debating the most important issues.

The right to die issue is one of the most pernicious causes of suffering and distress at the end of life. Yet only the most extreme cases are discussed. The suffering caused by the arrogant insistence demanded by church dogma, that suicide, although legal is restricted to those who are adamant and able, is felt by thousands as they are left to fear death to encourage them to believe in god's help?

Like all groups we all have our own priorities and specific perspectives, but there are wider issues on which we should be able to join forces as atheists, and IMO this is one of them.
