Beginners Patchwork and Quilting

  • July 26, 2014 · 10:00 AM

We will meet for 6 hours to make this simple patchwork quilt which will be 80cm x 95cm. Perfect size as a lap quilt for yourself or as a cute baby quilt.

We will chat about fabrics, threads and using simple tools and of course make a lovely simple quilt step by step.

• Heres what you need to bring:

• Some cotton fabric (about 2.5 metres. Choose 3 different fabrics at least 1 metre each that compliment each other )

• Cotton wadding (you will need at least 1 metre x 1 metre - I will also have some on the day)

• And your lovely self!

I will provide the sewing machine and threads which is included.

The price is a special offer to kick off our meetup and is £30 per session.

No problem to mix and match! You can book the 1st session now and the 2nd session at another meetup!

Hello Holly, sorry for the confusion. I am new to meetup!
The Old School Club needed at least 5 people booked on the meetup for 19th and 20th July. 2 people booked so I had to cancel. I am running the meetup at my home studio instead on 26th July for the two members that booked. Do you remember you requested a refund as you couldn't do 20th? I refunded you a few weeks ago. Any problems let me know. My home studio can only fit 2 people but I will arrange a meetup for 23 August at the Old School Club which can fit up to 6. Really hope you can make it! Jx

Hi there Jasmine, great you have done log cabin! We will be making a quick simple quilt using rectangles and triangles- perfect if you've had little or no experience or want a refresher. We will be using a rotary cutter, self healing mat and ruler. My style is American patchwork with a modern twist! Jx

  • Jasmine P.

    Hi Jenny

Is it £30 each session or £30 for 2?

Rather than people bring thier own sewing machine can we not find a venue that provides thier own?
I know a couple of venues & I don't think they charge a hire fee...

    June 17

    • Jennifer Campbell K.

Hello Holly, I have listened to what you have said and have found a venue. The workshops are £30 per session so £60 in total. This covers the venue for two days and the use of the sewing machines. J x

      June 17

  • Jennifer Campbell K.

    Hi there,
I have listened to our members and have found a lovely venue that has sewing machines so you don't have to carry your own! I have run workshops there before and it is a nice space. The cost of the two days is now £60 which covers the venue and the use of the machines. Still a special rate to kick off our meet up! I have also changed the date so the workshops are closer together so after the weekend you will have a finished quilt!! Looking forward to meeting you! Jx

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
