You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
A bright is a person who has a naturalistic worldview. A bright's worldview is free of supernatural and mystical elements. The ethics and actions of a bright are based on a naturalistic worldview.
The word bright was coined as a noun in 2003. Its definition is focused on the common denominator of 'groups' such as atheists, humanists, secularists, rationalists, free thinkers, etc. As such it is an umbrella term.
We want brights to be noticed as a constituency in a country where over 15% of people have no religious affiliation. To do this we will build its membership and find opportunities to campaign for change.
We have lively and stimulating conversation and debate at the London meetups over liquid refreshment. Topics range from faith schools to the European constitution, from current affairs to the history of religion. Come and find out for yourself.
Note that this meetup is run jointly with the London Atheists Meetup. There is also a UK-wide brights discussion forum at Google Groups BrightsUK forum.
