Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Richard Armitage

Bilbo Baggins embarks on an epic quest in the first part of a brilliant new trilogy from the creators of 'The Lord of the Rings'. Sixty years before the tumultuous events of the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) is recruited for a very special mission. Wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) singles him out to reclaim the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the terrifying dragon Smaug. Joining a band of thirteen dwarves led by the warrior Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), Bilbo sets off on an eventful journey through dangers lands riddled with fearsome creatures, shapeshifters and sorcerers. Along the way, he meets the mysterious Gollum (Andy Serkis). He little suspects that this encounter will change his life - and all of Middle-earth - forever! Peter Jackson's eagerly anticipated three-part prequel to his breathtaking 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy is brought to the screen with an A-list cast and state-of-the-art film-making technology.

Tickets ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you have a Cineworld Unlimited card you need to show this at the box office to collect a free ticket. Otherwise please just buy your own ticket in the normal way (if you book online in advance you may be able to get a 10% discount, eg £11.70 instead of £13).

London Cinema Meetup hosts a lot of events at Cineworld cinemas (usually for seeing the latest releases, most commonly in the West End). If you like watching films regularly (more than once a month) it might be cheaper to buy a Cineworld Unlimited card for £17.99 a month - this allows you to watch as many films as you like at Cineworld cinemas (including the ones we normally use in the West End, in Shaftesbury Avenue or in Haymarket). It also gives you a 10% discount off food and drink bought in the cinemas, and some local discount offers too. There is a cheaper version of the card for £14.99, but this is not valid for the Cineworld cinemas in the West End. Currently there is an offer of getting 'one free month' if you sign up using the promotion code below:

This code has to be entered in the payments section under "promotions".
Please check terms and conditions. To obtain a card you can use this website (you will need a digital photo of your face, which will appear on the card to identify you):
