Safety and privacy

Members are responsible for their own health and safety at all events. Please take care!

When meeting somebody at an event you should feel under no pressure to give personal contact information (e-mail address, phone number etc) unless you wish to and would like to be contacted by that person. If you feel awkward about refusing a request, you can just suggest that you meet that person at a future meetup event. If you do arrange to meet somebody outside an organised event it is safer to stay in public places until you are sure that you know and trust that person.

If you have serious problems or concerns about the behaviour of another member please report this to the organiser of the meetup (your comments will be treated confidentially).

Note that you can alter your privacy settings within the system (for example: click on the "Account" at the top and then choose the "Email settings" link).

If you do not know the way back at the end of an event, or feel nervous about walking back alone to a station or bus stop, please ask the organiser for assistance.
