Consultant working in technology areas including search, EDRM, Collaboration. Specific interest is ways to assess search result quality - spoke at Enterprise Search Summit in New York in May 2011. Blogs on search at www.tedcarroll.org.
This was my first meeting - I thought it was a useful forum. One of the speakers made the point that "search experts are not that interested in search results" - I paraphrase, but it brings out an important point.. Search engine specialists focus on technically "finding content", rather than considering how relevant results are to the users...It is good to have a forum to explore user relevance and ideas that can be adopted to improve the main job of getting the right information to users.
