London Country, Blues and Folk Gigs Pages

What's it all about?

It’s all about the music! And getting to meet some great people too :). Folk, blues (electric/British – the whole shebang), bluegrass, blues-rock, alternative-indie, indie-rock, Americana, honky-tonk, Cajun, progressive country, outlaw country with a sprinkling of folk, nu-folk, folk-rock, folk-pop, folk punk, garage rock… to name a few.
It’s all about hearing great (not always, but we try!) live music over a few drinks with lovely people.

What do you do?

We share information on our favourite music, swap notes on upcoming gigs and most of all socialize and go and listen to music together! Most of us have become used to going to gigs by ourselves, now we've got company.

We go to some of the many music nights around London, where there's little or no door charge and two or three bands might be playing. We don't always know about the bands we're seeing, especially new local bands - sometimes they're great, sometimes not - that's part of the joy of discovering new music! Occasionally we organise trips to big concerts by touring international artists too.

If you see we're going to listen to someone you like or if you want to take a chance and maybe discover some great new music, come along - we’d love to see you!

If you've got a suggestion for a gig please email us or place a post on our gig message boards [http://www.meetup.com... to see if others can join you.

Please note we're a social music website so please do not use the suggested events as PR for your events, thanks.

I want to come along - how do I find you?
1. RSVP, so we know to expect you.
2. Ideally, have a photo up, so we know what you look like.
3. Check our photos, so you know what we look like!
4. We’ll arrange a place for everyone to meet prior to the start and one of our organisers will send you a mobile number to call in case you get lost or are delayed.

Anything else?

We want to create meetups where we all get to hear great music and meet lovely people. However no-shows, i.e. someone who RSVP's for a meetup and then doesn't attend, can be a fly in the ointment. We therefore ask that you please keep your RSVP up to date.

If you are uncertain whether you will attend a Meetup please don’t RSVP yes and then change your RSVP at the last minute. We would much prefer that you didn't RSVP and then sign up at the last minute. In other words we would prefer your attendance to be nice surprise :) rather than the disappointment of you not turning up.

Hope to see you at an event soon
