Brian, very good meeting and nice location. Thanks for the info about the #14 notes, which I followed to get my drive partitioned to install Linux Mint 17 (Ubuntu Trusty) OK. Still working to get drupal7 installed using git. Please can you provide example apache2 file to set Virtual Hosting from the /drupal mount point.

Hi Steve, thanks for the positive feedback. There's several stages to getting a virtual host configuration working on your laptop, my vhost file alone wouldn't help ... let me find some links for you. We can work through it at the next meetup (24th). Get your self on the waiting list ;-p

    Hi Lenny

Good to see you yesterday ;-} I mentioned the Drupal Devel module during the meetup yesterday (https://www.drupal.org/project/devel). It's well worth exploring - specifically the "Helper functions": "for [the] print a summary of ... how long each query took" feature. I haven't used it for this feature, but I have seen a (live) presentation - it will identify directly where your performance issue resides.

Just searched for a (online) presentation/video specifically on the helper feature but couldn't find one (other than an Italian YouTube presentation ;-?. Anybody else in the group know of good presentation/video on using the helper function in Devel?

    Thanks

    Brian

      Hi Brian

It was great to meet you yesterday. Thank you so much for arranging the meetup. It's been absolutley invaluable for me - just wish I'd started attending a long time ago.

And thanks for all this info on Devel. I have it installed but haven't been making full use of it up to now. The video should be an enormous help to me.

      Thanks,
      Lenny

I mention the CDN (Content Delivery Network) CloudFlare (https://www.cloudflare.com/) yesterday. I use it as a free extension to my Dreamhost hosted sites - but, " ... you do not need to change your hosting provider or registrar" to use it. CDN is currently near the top of my "must research list" - would be good to hear if anybody else has any experience with CDN or CloudFlare. Thx

      Hi Brian

I've looked a bit into CDN this morning. Definitely looks like something that's worth further exploration for me.

I'll let you know how I get on with it.

      Warmest Regards,
      Lenny

Do you any of you have experience with Picture & Breakpoints modules to handle responsive images?
Having a little difficulty configuring it all, despite looking at official documentation & unofficial videos & tutorials .. would be awesome to have a second pair of eyes on it this Thursday :)

Why not make next Thursday a Drupal day?

Coworking with us during the day, and attend Drupal Show & Tell during the evening (http://ow.ly/yJqHz).
