Visit the Saatchi Gallery-Russian/Moscow Art 1960-80+Gaiety in USSR

Michael has kindly rescheduled the visit to the Saachi Gallery for the 23rd of February, because the gallery is closed on the 9th when the initial meetup was planned. During this visit you'd be able to see Russian art from the second half of the 20 century "BREAKING THE ICE: MOSCOW ART,[masked]s" and "GAIETY IS THE MOST OUTSTANDING FEATURE OF THE SOVIET UNION". This is a unique opportunity to see the work of both male and female contemporary Russian artists.

If any of you haven't been to the Saatchi Gallery have a look at the virtual tour of the gallery which hosts FREE exhibitions.

PLEASE RSVP ACCURATELY, dropping off in the last minute as well as not attending, counts as a "no show".

It s good to be reminded through realistic (crude?) visual arts of all the things that are less than ideal in Russia, for those like me who tend to just remember the great things of Eastern Europe and its people. Good "reality check" for those nostalgic days when I want to just pack and go back :-) Thanks to Michael for highlithing this event, as it would have otherwise passed unnoticed!

It was a bit confused as everybody was missing Michael. And some commentating would have been helpful. However, even if you do not know anything about historic and sociological realities of the covered period, the artists' works on show is clear enough in its basic narrative...and it is shockingly close to our pampered western lifestyle we take for granted in both, its desperation and excesses.

Great ....but where was Michael Parker? A guide would have added so much background information
