007 SKYFALL: the quintessentially British Bond

Believe it or not, it's technically SUMMER and we will behave accordingly, ignoring the fact we are in England. SO... open air cinema!! Bring your sandwiches and wine bottle to kill the time before the film starts at 7.30.

Classic, cult and contemporary films will be screened on the South Bank, in the outdoor amphitheatre beside City Hall, each Wednesday and Friday from 11 – 27 September.

Most films reach capacity so arrive early! Seats cannot be reserved so get together before entry to avoid disappointment, or ask a friend to keep a seating space for you.

Note: after sunset it gets quite chilly beside the river, so make sure to bring a sweater with you, and something to sit on (the stone steps get cold too).

Skyfall

When Bond's latest assignment goes gravely wrong and agents around the world are exposed, MI6 is attacked forcing M to relocate the agency. These events cause her authority and position to be challenged. With MI6 now compromised from both inside and out, M is left with one ally she can trust: Bond.

Winner of two Oscars and starring Daniel Craig, Judy Dench and Javier Bardem.

2012; 143 mins; Cert 12a

I was there from 6.40 (wearing a witch hat for about 20min, then I had to switch to an umbrella!) and nobody came ... :'( But I really enjoyed the movie, well done to those who put up with the rain and cold - I really suffered in the last half an hour.
Hopefully we'll get better weather on Friday.. ;-)

RIGHT - oh! I've printed the attendance list, I might be wearing some outrageously tall hat for visibility (tall pointed black hat), find me and say hallo, so I can tick you off the list ;-)

Remember to bring something to sit on (a copy of the Evening Standard will do the job of insulating you from the cold marble) and a warm top (sweater, jacket).
I'd normally get a pint - tonight will rather go for a scalding Mocha ;-/
