Days are still longer than nights. Let's take this opportunity for a day trip to visit the Royal Pavilion and the Brighton museum and Art gallery, both located in Brighton's cultural quarter.
Let's meet at Victoria Station at 10.30am. We'll take the 11.06 to Brighton (group saver tickets, about £15 each person). In Brighton we'll head to the seaside for a swim and a picnic lunch. Then we'll visit the royal pavilion and the nearby museum and art gallery.
Welcome to an extraordinary and extravagant pleasure palace. Built for the Prince Regent, later King George IV, in stages between 1787 and 1823, the Royal Pavilion is remarkable for its exotic oriental appearance both inside and out. This magnificent royal pleasure palace was revered by fashionable Regency society and is still a distinctive landmark for vibrant Brighton & Hove today.
Royal Pavilion ticket price: Adult £10.50
Brighton Museum & Art Gallery:
Set in the heart of the city’s cultural quarter, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery is located in the Royal Pavilion gardens. Its rich collections and exciting exhibits are dynamically displayed in stimulating surroundings. Entrance is free.
