The debate about freedom of movement and immigration inside the EU is in full swing, so to get February's Cross-Cultural Chit-Chat going, let's get a little political too: do you perceive any differences between expats and immigrants? Did you recently experience any change in attitudes, how do you think your country stands towards the freedom of movement?
You needn't be an expert on Hofstede or Trompenars or however those cross-cultural experts are called. Just share your observations and experiences about what you think your nation is doing different then others. Is it a different communication style, a different attitude towards the environment, towards food or whatever? What do you think distinguishes one European nation from the other? What prejudices do you face and which ones do you find confirmed, what do you like about other cultures? Are there perhaps also any special language issues you observe?
So come along on Wednesday, 12 February 2014 at 6.15pm to the famous and well known Penderel's Oak for a European Cross-Cultural Chit-Chat over a pint or two. I'm looking forward to seeing you there.
Please only RSVP if you are certain that you can join us or amend your RSVP in time. Accurate numbers help with the reservation and people on the wait list can avoid disappointment. Our "no show" policy applies to this as well as every other event in the Club.
