Classical guitarist Milos Karadaglic of Montenegro is performing together with London Philarmonic Orchestra at Southbank Centre. Conductor is Vladimir Jurowski. Program includes
Nicolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov: Russian Easter Festival Overture
Joaquin Rodrigo: Concierto de Aranjuez for guitar & orchestra
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Symphony No.6 (Pathétique)
I heard about Milos Karadaglic as I was traveling in Montenegro. As he was living and performing in London, I took a mental note to go and see him at a concert in London. Finally have a chance to listen to him live here. Perhaps some of you, Europeans would like to come and join me for this musical feast.
"One of the hottest properties in classical music, MILOŠ came to international attention in 2011 with his debut album The Guitar (Mediterráneo) which, in the space of just a few months, topped classical charts around the world, became an internationally best selling sensation and earned Miloš Gramophone’s prestigious Young Artist of the Year Award.
As an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon recording artist, Miloš Karadaglić released his second album Latino (Pasión) in 2012 and went on to receive both Classic Brit (UK) and Echo Klassik (Germany) awards. Reviewing the album Gramophone commented “Karadaglić is a guitarist of superior musical and technical gifts who allows his personality to sing through the music with taste and intelligence” and The Daily Telegraph added “this new Latin American programme is outstanding in its finesse, warm sensuality and sheer beauty.”
Born in Montenegro in 1983, Miloš Karadaglić first started playing the guitar at the age of 8. When he was 17 he successfully applied for a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music and moved to London where he continues to live while keeping close ties with his family and homeland."
