Revisiting the Chilterns again- 25+km walk around Tring

After our last Chilterns hike I realised that some of you are fit and happy to walk longer distances so we will go for another visit to the Chilterns this time exploring the area around Tring. Only RSVP for this walk if you have recently walked over 20km and are happy to extend the walk to over 25km if the majority of the group decides to do so. Yes you will feel tired at the end of the day and you may even get a blister. But you will also enjoy a wonderful scenery and that cake or beer will taste REALLY good. So forget the gym and come along on a walk with London European Club.

This is a perfect way to spend Easter Sunday outdoors, regardless of the weather. Come rain or shine (hopefully shine) we will be out there walking the walk. We will walk through Tring Park, along canals and if we feel like it, we may even go to Berkhampstead.

Tring is within the London commuter belt and so is Berkhampsted  and they are full of nice pubs and lovely cafes. We will stop for a pub lunch, but you can also bring your own food which you can have outside of the pub and join the rest of us for drink. The total cost of the return train ticket and the £4 contribution to the Club will not exceed £15 as we will be going on a group saver ticket. Bring some cash for the post walk socialising as we are most certainly going to end up in a pub because there are still many wrongs that need to be put right over a pint or two. Depending on our mood we may play consequences, yatzee or even hide and seek. Who knows? You will find out if you join us.....

The Club is run by dedicated volunteers and as our walks are popular members who do not show up at events they have RSVPed to are removed from the Club. Please RSVP accurately. Thank you!

Fantastic walk, brilliant group, superbly guided by Maja, I never would have known we had got lost if it hadn't been highlighted with maps in the bar at the end.

I don't think I have laughed this much since the beginning og 2014. You were so much fun to be with and were in such high spirits even when we got lost (again). Lovely seeing you all, watch out for the next Chiltrrn walk in May.

If you want to come prepared for this walk please bring OS Map 181 -Chiltern Hills North. We will be stopping for a pub lunch in Berkhamsted and for a well deserved pint when we get back to Tring.
This is a circular walk so you can park in Tring if you are coming by car. The return train journey on a group saver ticket and the contribution to the Club should not exceed £12..

Why the emphasis on 25 km again....it becomes a race...can we see some 20km walks again please

    • vanessa

There's a walk on Saturday the 19th that's 21 km - although it might be full already...

      April 11

    • Maja

There is an emphasis because some of us are training for various challenges and want to do longer walks. We welcome everyone to join us but they need to know what they are getting themselves into thus the emphasis. Aside from the walk on the 19th which Vanessa mentioned there is also one this weekend which is easier. We welcome walkers of all levels, but we try to inform them about the different levels by writing a detailed description.
