It is almost 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall transformed contemporary Europe.
25 years later (or 25 years minus 4 months), Index on Censorship and the Goethe Institute are hosting a debate to ask whether any of us are truly freer now?
Debating this question will be Martin Roth, director of the V&A and former director of Dresden State Art Collections, David Edgar, political playwright, Kate Maltby of Bright Blue and The Daily Telegraph, and Sebastian Borger, German author and journalist; with Rachael Jolley, editor of Index on Censorship magazine in the chair.
The event will also launch the summer issue of Index on Censorship's magazine.
The discussion will be in English and is free to attend, and includes a free summer drinks reception on the beautiful terrace of the Goethe-Institut.
