LUX Film Days - TABU

The European Parliament Information Office in the UK has teamed up with the UK Film Festival this year for LUX Film Days

The three finalists' films will be shown free of charge at The Aubin Cinema in Shoreditch between 14-16th November.or LUX Film Days.

I am planning on attending either the Wednesday or the Thursday session, but my colleagu

es from the European Parliament will be there on the other nights too, and they will be happy to host the Europeans.

On Wednesday 14th November at 6.30pm we will be screening TABU (directed by Miguel Gomes)

The LUX Prize (in Latin, lux means light) was established in 2007 as a tangible symbol of the Europ

ean Parliament’s commitment to the European film industry and its creative endeavours. Since then, the European Parliament casts an annual spotlight on films that go to the heart of the European public debate. Beyond the stories they tell, these films explore and question European shared values, look at the level of support for the project of building Europe and address cross-border concerns such as immigration, justice, solidarity, public freedoms and fundamentals rights. Each film offers

a glimpse into the lives of Europeans, their convictions and doubts and their quest for identity.

The film will be screened at The Aubin Cinema, 64-66 Redchurch Street, London, E2 7DP

The screenings are free of charge but space is limited, so please make sure you email me at

[masked].eu or my colleague [masked]
, so we can put your name down on the guest list.

I really enjoyed the environment. The film was an interesting mix of historic, social and religious situations - as well as integrity and sincerity borne from under difficult circumstances. There are some rather funny lines in it but the grey overtones bring to the front a somewhat familiar melancholy.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
