LUX Film Days - Shun Li and the Poet

The European Parliament Information Office in the UK has teamed up with the UK Film Festival this year for LUX Film Days.

The three finalists' films will be shown free of charge at The Aubin Cinema in Shoreditch between 14-16th November.

I am planning on attending either the Wednesday or the Thursday session, but my colleagues from the EPIO will be there on the other nights too.

On Thursday 15th November at 6.30pm we will be screening

"Shun Li and the Poet"

(directed by Andrea Segre)

The LUX Prize (in Latin, lux means light) was established in 2007 as a tangible symbol of the European Parliament’s commitment to the European film industry and its creative endeavours. Since then, the European Parliament casts an annual spotlight on films that go to the heart of the European public debate. Beyond the stories they tell, these films explore and question European shared values, look at the level of support for the project of building Europe and address cross-border concerns such as immigration, justice, solidarity, public freedoms and fundamentals rights. Each film offers a glimpse into the lives of Europeans, their convictions and doubts and their quest for identity.

The film will be screened at The Aubin Cinema, 64-66 Redchurch Street, London, E2 7DP

The screenings are free of charge but space is limited, so please make sure you email me at [masked] or my colleague [masked], so we can put your name down on the guest list.

    Hi all,
Anyone able to meet for a drink beforehand? Say 5:45-6ish?
(I've taken the afternoon off & will be slowly making my way there from St Paul's, via Mansion House & a few churches, including St Botolph's, if anyone wants to join me.)

    Cheers -
