Short films at the Frontline Club

Let's go for an evening of short documentaries from different parts of the world covering a wide range of topics. Shorts at the Frontline Club showcases moving, striking and funny films exploring the different faces of documentary.

The evening will include short stories capturing the essence of big issues; films showing life in other parts of the world under difficult or extraordinary circumstances; and stories focusing on one particular remarkable event or person.

I would urge you all to book ahead as events at the Frontline Club are often very popular and sell out quickly.

Additional details can be found by clicking on the link below (you can also book the tickets there):

http://www.frontlineclub.com/screening-shorts-01feb/

We can all meet at the club 15 minutes before the short films start at 19:00 and go for a drink at the Frontline club bar after to talk about the films and mingle.

London European Club has a "no show" policy which applies to every event including this one. This is because all organisers are busy individuals who volunteer their time and don't want to waste it on people who don't show up at events. Do not become a "former member" please RSVP accurately.

I liked the one about the Syrian "revolution" most, giving us a little insight into what it is really about (or actually how hard it is to get the hang of it).
The South African diamond rush site (or whatever remained of it) had a peculiar "end-of-the world" feel, rather depressing though, as the hope of wealth has vanished and the climate change is beginning to affect the local way of life.

Hi All, just to let the organisers know that I was there, but left the room b4 the Questions ended and the restaurant was so busy that they had no table for me and my two friends, so we ended up leaving.

No problem Betty. We actually met at the bar after the Questions. It was quite nice. Hope to see you next time!

Hi, I would like to come, but tickets are sold out. So if there's anyone on the list who has a ticket but changes their mind (even on Friday pm), then do let me know... (Although 1 or 2 others before me, so not sure if they need them too). Thanks :)

I can make it for 7pm but not any earlier. I hope they aren't too strict about admittance just after 7pm.

    • Martin

No, they aren't, even if you arrive an hour late, at which point nobody even bothers to check your ticket ...(which I of course recommend to have ;-)

    • Maja

Of course, who else but you Martin :-)

Hi Kiril, why a waiting list? If Frontline has still tickets, then the more the merrier, no? The Frontline bar is big enough to fit us in for discussion afterwards.. ;-)

Great idea! Funny, I bought a ticket literally 2 hours before getting the e-mail for this meetup. I see that membership at Frontline is £33 a month, if anyone is interested...
