London Futurists update - lots of meetings ahead

Dear Shapers of the Future,

With so many relatively new members in the group, it's timely for me to say a big "Welcome!"

I'd also like to briefly remind everyone about the different kinds of meetings that are publicised via the London Futurists meetup.com site.

The main London Futurist speaker meetings usually take place in lecture rooms at Birkbeck College, with a chance to socialise in the nearby Marlborough Arms pub both before and after. Two such meetings are currently in the calendar:

Note: I take account of the number of online RSVPs when deciding how large a room to book for these meetings. (The larger rooms are more expensive so I don't want to hire a room that is considerably too large for a given meeting.) So please do RSVP if you are likely to attend, and click on the Paypal option to pay the £5 entry fee in advance, to help cover the cost of room hire. (This fee will be fully refunded if you cancel ahead of the meetup.)

Jointly organised meetings are also featured on the site. These take place at various venues, depending on the other group that has jointly arranged a given meeting. Please check the meetup.com site for the details in each case:

Independently organised meetings: Finally, I sometimes post details of events that London Futurists has played no role in helping to organise, but the topic is likely to be of interest to many members:

  • On Sat 13th April, Zero State is hosting Radical futurist politics? Pirate Party and Consensus Meetup in the upstairs room at The Queen's Larder. See here for more details. (There will be no charge to attend, but attendees will be encouraged to join or donate to the Consensus Party.)

The future of London Futurists:

More meetings and other activities are in the process of being organised - keep your eyes open for further updates!
