Hello Everybody.

We are nearly a month old now and we have over 30 members and lots of interest in the upcoming meetup.
Ifanybody has been trying to contact me via the page - it has not worked so far as Meetup have sent all the mail to my spam folder! If you need to contact me my direct e-mail is: [address removed]

Transhumanism/futurism is seemingly taking off in a very big way, What seemed far out 4-5 years ago is already becoming mainstream you only have to take a look at some of the videos i have found on the internet. Most links can be found on our message board with short descriptions. If you find anything new in regard to this please post links for the group.

It is just over a week till our first meeting and I am really looking forward to meeting some of you. Again if anyone wants to show/demonstate anything please contact me to organise. The meeting will be held in a private room above the Bar at the Assembly House, Kentish Town. Food and drink will be available and I will hopefully be showing a short film.

I would also like to leave you with this thought: Is the Technological Singularity already happenning for phones? Last week I bought a touch screen phone with camera, mp3 player, bluetooth, internet, radio, ?20 talktime, san disc, fully insured on pay as you go for only ?50. The phone is like 50 times more powerfull than my first windows machine and about 50 times smaller. When i compare it with my first motorola mobile (in 1996) which had no text and memory for only 10 stored numbers - its like mobile technology has jumped forward 100 years of progress in less than 15 man years! Not only that Active Mobile phones are now at 11 Billion and have achieved almost 100% saturation for every human everywhere in the world. Most people in the western world have 2 and even in 3rd world Africa, tribesman are using them to transfer money by text message and to check prices of livestock on the internet!
