Brompton Cemetery Visit and Tour

Everyone at London Haunts and Horrors loves a good graveyard and this time we're heading to one of the big ones - Brompton Cemetery. And we're getting a guided tour too!

This cemetery is one of the Magificent Seven group of cemeteries - the huge cemeteries like Highgate that were built in the 1840s to cope with the overcrowding in local parish burial grounds.

We'll be visiting Brompton cemetery - which is right next door to West Brompton Tube - on Sunday, 10th February 2013, at 1.30pm. We'll be getting there just in time for the Friends of Brompton guided walk.

Tours begin at 2pm from the South Lodge, just inside the Fulham Road entrance, and last about two hours. PLEASE NOTE: A donation of at least £5 per person contributes toward the work of the Friends.

Afterwards, we will be heading to a local watering hole for a couple of drinks.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Great day - well, the weather was terrible - it was cold and wet - but the tour was excellent. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Recommended anyone interested in this kind of stuff to go on the Brompton Cemetery Tours.

Just looked at the Tube reports there ment to be work in progress on sertan lines, inc the line to Fulham, so im leaving early today,in hope to get there in time or even early..

This may sound stupid to some people, but i alway take protection with me at cemeteries, such as CROSS, Holy Water and Holy Salt, i normaly say a Prayer befor i go into a cemetery, even if a silent prayer, then i make the mark of the cross with holy on my fore head, with the water and eat a little salt to, these are blessed my my local Priest and hopefully protects me.

IF anyome want a dab or Holy Water and Salt, just ask me. I be wearing Blue Jeans, Black Jacket, White Base Ball hat with my SouthWestGhosts info on, im average looking to.lol

See you all there, if i go to the right place. LOL.

    Hi David and all!
I have realized that it is my father’s memorial on Sunday, so it looks like I will not be able to make it.
There still is a chance if the things move fast! But don’t wait. I will catch up with you all on the tour if I can! Otherwise I will see you on Thursday! :-)

How about doing Kensal Green Cemetery on their open day when you get to visit the catacombs for a small fee. Well worth a visit. And its one of the Magnificent Seven.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
