Announcing a new Meetup for London Haunts and Horrors!
What: Ghost walk / pub crawl in Hampstead
When: Saturday, June 25, 2011 4:00 PM
Price: GBP2.00 per person
Where: King William IV
77 Hampstead High Street NW31RE
Join us for a walk through haunted Hampstead. This is a self-led walk--your tour guide will be me. :) Much of the walk is spent crossing Hampstead Heath, which can be lonely, desolate and, if the conditions are right, quite frightening. Highlights include the eerie overgrown pathways of St. John's Church, Jack Straw's castle, and a chance to unwind and seek out the ghosts at the splendid Spaniards Inn, once a haunt of highwayman Dick Turpin. The tour also features 4 haunted pubs, so we'll be stopping often for drinks.
This will be quite a walk!
We'll be covering 3.5 miles and some of the terrain can be a bit rough. Wear comfy shoes and be prepared for winding paths and weeds. We'll be meeting at the King William IV pub on Hampstead High Street and ending at the Flask Tavern (both within a few minutes of Hampstead tube station). The walk itself takes 2 hours and we'll have about 30 minutes in each pub. Whoever is interested in dinner afterwards is welcome.
The more the merrier on this one, so please sign up and bring a friend. See you then!
Check it out!
