Thanks to everyone who came last Tuesday to discuss "The Founding". A very large turnout.
Unfortunately the venue was much busier and thus noisier than it had been previously. Perhaps that's because they had more than one event on.
I'd like to keep our venue on the South Bank as that seems to be convenient for most people, but maybe we'll try the Royal Festival Hall next time.
Anyway, let's choose the date first and then I'll see what's on at each venue on the night. (The concerts at QEH don't tend to start till 7.30pm, so we don't want to wait till they start to meet.)
As discussed already, our next book is "The Fraud" by Barbara Ewing.
Please go to the Polls section to help choose a date. It will be one of the weeknights in the second week of March.http://www.meetup.com/London-Historical-Fiction-Book-Group/polls/
While you're there, please also help choose a date for the following meetup in the last week of April, at which we'll discuss "The Great Stink" by Clare Clark.
Meanwhile, feel free to contact me to suggest books for later in the year - or suggestions for venues as nothing is set in stone.
Thanks a lot.
