The CTO: Brokering Partnerships for ICT4D

Many of you will know Prof. Tim Unwin (UNESCO Chair in ICT4D at Royal Holloway, but you may not have spoken with him since he started his new job as Secretary General of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) - the largest and oldest Commonwealth membership organisation committed to using information and communication technologies (ICTs) appropriately and effectively for development.

As UNESCO Chairholder, Tim teaches regularly on our MSc Practising Sustainable Development (ICT4D) ( but this is a special public lecture at Royal Holloway where Tim will tell us about his progress and the strategic priorities for the CTO over the next few years. It would be great if any interested meetupers could make the trip to Egham (40 mins from Waterloo) to join us for this exciting talk and drinks afterwards.

I'm back home and thinking of you all - after the first half of my journey went so badly that it was rather pointless to carry on. Sorry I couldn't make it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the event - I'm the ICT4D Centre's new partnerships manager so please come and say hello and tell me about your work!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
