This is not a Networking Group, monthly meetings are low on our objectives. The meetings we have are SKYPE based to discuss actual pre-prod, prod and post issues. Please do not join this group if you expect a socializing group! We are also not a bodyshop to help individual aspirations!
I am an experienced IT professional, programmer, engineer and technical project manager. My friend is a computer programmer. We both have a passion to write, direct, and produce independent film. We have had a hard time finding groups who will allow 'Newbie’s' onto a film 'set’ whether actors, camera operators, makeup artists, grips, riggers etc. For this reason we have created our own indie film making group. We have personally invested in a small amount of equipment to start us off.
Our goal is to enhance our skills by creating and working on some short projects from inception to completion. Hopefully we will form a friendly, reliable, re-useable, go-get team that can grow with us in the process. The group will become an incubator for future talent if all goes well. Our target for the future is to write, direct and produce full length movies in a reasonable time frame. Our goal is not about making movies to win competitions (although that’s always welcome) but to create good movies through trial and error, because we want to gain experience, which we can’t seem to gain readily elsewhere
This is a low/shoe-string budget collaboration, therefore if the saying “money talks” is applied. This will be a very quite and sombre experience. There will be blood, sweat, and tears, but hopefully a lot of fun along the way. We are encouraging members without any film making experience (like us) to come forward and grow as a team. Professionals are more than welcome whatever interest you have in making a film, we would love to hear from you.
PS
Working equipment donations are always welcome. If you own or can authorise access to locations that we can use for a filming within, close to London that would be also wonderful for us to keep note of. We can always factor it in with a script
