Indiemeet Newcomers
It's been great to see loads of new members join us at the beginning of the year. Because of that we're trying out an extrameet specifically for folk who are learning about the world of story games and indie rpgs, allowing us to talk more about the games we love.

The meet will predominantly cover playing GM-less and other types of 'shared authority' games as these often give players greater tools to shape the ongoing story as well as posing challenges for newer players to know 'what to do'.

All are welcome, no matter how long you've been gaming, but veterans coming along should be interested in sharing their experience with others. Early activities will focus on general story gaming principles and techniques before moving on to put them into practice with some of the best-loved story games of recent years. We'll gather in the backroom behind the main bar from 12:00pm and get started from 12:15pm.

If you're RSVPing yes, then please do post a comment about what you'd be looking to get from the session: whether you're looking to learn or to share what you've learned with others. The event will be capped at 16 for now as a manageable group size so please do keep your RSVP up-to-date.

I had a great day, played my first storytelling game - Vast and Starlit, still wondering about the adventures of Sal, Druze, Ganymede and Nial =D

Hi all. Just a reminder that we're meeting in the back area (behind the bar) from 12. Come on through and say hello!

I'm sure the original event said 11. I've been sitting outside since then...

Hi Gabrielle. Sorry to hear that. The pub itself doesn't open until 12. I will be there in about 15 mins.

Hope its okay that I jumped in to the empty space this late.
No real rpg experience so looking forward to this chance to see what these indie games are all about.

Sorry, won't be able to make it after all. Caught some nasty kind of flu. See you in 2 weeks!

Hi. Apologies but I won't be able to make it. Childcare issues....

Just to mention that the Blacksmith and Toffemaker is now confirmed as the venue, but we'll be in the backroom behind the main bar.

Although I've been a trad gamer for quite some time, I'm new to indie rpg's and interested in learning how to better contribute and balance shared-narrative RPGs. Particularly ways to improve my improvisational techniques while also facilitating and making room for other newer players to contribute on their own.

Hi guys, busy again, hopefully I should make it to the other meetup this month though.

I've played in a couple more 'mainstream' rpgs and I'm really interested in getting more involved in indie role-playing games. I'm new to the group, never been to an event yet, so also liking forward to meeting you all =)

I will try to get to this, but doubtful i'd be able to get there at the beginning, but sounds interesting. i still think of myself as a newbie...not been coming all that long. if you need a spot for someone that can make the whole time, fair enough, i'll just have to make it to the next official one!

Hi! I've been to the meetup 3 times so far, so maybe I could count as a newbie? Anyway, I'm planning to bring some small games bridging the gap between "standard" board/card games and story games: Infinite Dungeon, Once Upon a Time, Dark Cults that we could try out in the "early activities" phase. I could also bring and facilitate Winter Tales, which is a fairly-unknown GM-less story game disguised as a board game (with some beautiful artwork). I have never tried Fiasco nor A Penny for My Thoughts and I always wanted to, so I would certainly be up for that!

New to the group, coming to meet people.

Looking to help get people into games I guess. Have been feeling guilty that I've never played Fiasco.

Like to offer some pure story games like Vast and Starlit, Sundered Land and some intermediate games like Kingdom, Queen of Thorns and Remember Tomorrow

Sadly can't be there as I will be indulging in intergalactic warfare that day. Will see if I can motivate some friends to pop over though.

I'm a "veteran." I'll bring along Fiasco, Intrepid and A Penny For My Thoughts. I can also facilitate other games I know. Also happy to drop out if you're pressed for places.

Experienced at RPGs but new to the group. Want to come along and get things started, find new GMs / Players.
