Indiemeet's Midweek Extrameet

For those of us who struggle to make it at weekends we’re now running a monthly midweek evening session: the Indiemeet Midweek Extrameet! Last month was our first session and it went well. We're trying it out on the first Wednesday of the month to start with, but that may change depending on interest. Likewise we’ll continue to meet in the backroom of The Horseshoe Inn just down the road from St Christopher’s.

Being in the evening we’ll obviously not have enough time to run two sessions, but otherwise the format will be exactly the same. Turn up, pitch and play.

How it works: Come along for 6.30pm and meet folk in the main bar. At 7.00pm we head to the backroom and everyone who is going to run something pitches what it is they will run, up to how many players can be accommodated, and what the game is about.

It might be GM led or it might be more of a story game with the expectation that everyone contribute equally. When this is complete, everyone says what it is they want to play.

At 7.30pm your group grabs a table and starts playing!

The slot finishes by around 10.30pm and we’re out by 11.00pm.

Want to pitch for the first time at Indiemeet? We want to help: We love members stepping forward to pitch the games they love. If it’s your first time pitching at Indiemeet then tell a host and we’ll try to fill that game first.

Newcomers Choice: We love to welcome new people to the meetup. So, if it’s your first visit to London Indiemeet, then we’ll ask you what you want to play and make sure that runs.

Thanks to everyone who made it. Nice game of Love in the Time of Seið. How was your game of gonzo Dungeonworld Billy?

Apologies for the noise of the pub. Last time, our first, it was far quieter. Finding rooms in the area really is tough, but I'll keep looking for our own dedicated place.

Glad you guys had fun...it was typical for work to be quiet all day and then suddenly explode right at the end, when i needed to leave! Next time should be no problem!

Hey everyone, I really did plan to come today but what with having been unwell this week and then gone straight out for a job interview as soon as I was feeling human, I'm way too tired. Have fun, sorry to miss it, and I'll see you next month!

There will be the usual offer of Fiasco, I'll bring a Protocol game and some of the guys from the design a game meet in Saturday may turn up for some playtesting.

Sorry Tom, a family thing has cropped up that I can't really get out of. Would have liked to have been there as I'm so rarely able to make it these days. Hope it goes well and see y'all next time :)

As and when you can mate. We'll be here keeping a chair warm and a pint cold for you.

Glad to see a solid crowd confirmed. We may end up with even more if those who went to Saturday's game design workshop decide to come along to test out their games. They came up with some really great stuff I'm itching to play!

most tube lines are still running trains, just not as frequently. Still I understand if you don't want to risk it! See you another time?

  • Katrina A.

Great idea, but will wait until there isn't a tube strike threat to come to one.
