We play small press games of imagination (for the most part)

What we do looks like this!

How it works: Come along for 12:00pm and meet folk. We then head to the Lounge Bar and pitching starts. Everyone who is going to run something fills in a form about their game, saying what it is they will run, up to how many players can be accommodated, and what the game is about.

It might be GM led or it might be more of a story game with the expectation that everyone contribute equally. When this is complete everyone says what it is they want to play: and hey, if it's your first time here you you get to choose first in what you play.

At 12:30 your group grabs a table and starts playing! The slot finishes around 4:30pm This process repeats at 5:00pm for the second slot.

Hey, here's a subset of the games that'll be pitched on the day. (More discussion here.)

  • Blood & Water - "Being Human" style RPG about a household of supernatural outcasts.
  • Duty and Honour/Beat to Quartersundertake missions for Wellington in this Napoleonic RPG.
  • Forsooth!a Shakespeare-themed RPG.
  • Maida light comedy anime-themed RPG.
  • Left Coasta game about science fiction writers in 1970s California inspired by the life of Phillip K. Dick.
  • The FacilityStanford Prison Experiment slash Erving Goffman's Asylums.
  • Shadowrun 1st EditionOld School Flavour, New School Get Shizzle Done Play.

Had a great time. Played two games. Although this was only my second time, I felt very welcome.

    5:00pm slot

    Downton World

Didn't get an exact count of the number of new gamers for the second session, but I think we were at 40 gamers total over the day. Same with new faces, but I think at least 7. Certainly, by the end of newcomer's choice we had pretty much every game already going! And a final thanks to those who stepped up to run when games were lacking.

Hi all, Just a reminder that we're gaming on tomorrow. If you're coming along for the first time then we start gathering at the main bar as you walk in from about noon. Come and say hi to myself or Steph. At about 12:20, we head into their downstairs lounge and start organising games. Judging from the RSVPs, we'll likely be a bit crowded and louder than usual, but that'll also mean more games to pick from! Second slot will start pitching from about 4:50pm.

Anyone playing Fiasco? Not been down the indie group for a long time having moved north of the Thames where a lot of my friends were roleplaying, but after a great introductory game of Fiasco they seem to be struggling with the game a bit (admittedly, more often than not when there's just three of us playing). If there's no Fiasco I'm happy to play any of the above pitches – Left Coast especially sounds fun.

I've got a tonne of work on so I'll only be able to make one session. Any chance of narrowing this down to the first or second session so I can definitely be there for it and then head back to the grindstone?

      February 15, 2013

    • Simon B.

I expect I'll be playing it both sessions. If it helps pick a session and I'll definitely run it for that one.

      February 15, 2013

  • Stephen E.

    Gonna try and be there.

New here and transport is a problem so I don't know when/if I'll ever make a meeting but its good to see the smaller games getting support.

Is it okay for anyone to just show up for this? I've played tabletop games for about 9 years, keen to play some more in London. Will be bringing my partner along, it'll be her first time playing but I'm hoping that's okay.
