Indiemeet at Dragonmeet and our first funding drive

Hi all,
You're getting this message as you're subscribed to organiser messages for London Indie RPG meetup group. This is to keep you in the loop as to a couple of things going on that you won't have seen on the meetup site.


Number 1 - We're looking for folk to run games as part of Indiemeet at Dragonmeet.
Dragonmeet is a big single day con in central London on December 7th. Indiemeet's been there the last couple of years running indie games and - given the great feedback from last year - we have an opportunity to provide a larger showcase of our kind of gaming than ever before.

If you're free on December 7th and you're interested in coming along and facilitating or GMing some games (and you've not already contacted me) please let me know by replying to this email along with the games that you'd like to facilitate.

Number 2 - Our first funding drive

Whilst on meetup, you might have spotted that bit of text on the left hand side of the page that says "donation - £2, once every 6 months".

Indiemeet's expenses are small (just the meetup fees of about £50 per half-year), but they do have to be paid. Previously they've been covered almost entirely by our Founder, however since he's taken a step back from running Indiemeet, we think it's not right for one person to bear the cost for all of us.

The way we're going to do it is - when we have an expense coming up (as we do in October) - we'll ask for donations from our members the month before and the month of. Afterwards I'll then provide an account of what was collected vs paid out and anything carried over to the next expense (or which had to be topped up).

If you're coming to a meetup in October then feel free to bring along a few pounds to stick in the tin. Alternatively reply to this message and I'll send you the details you need if you'd like to send money online.

  • If the group is wound up I'll donate leftover money to a charity.
