WHO CAN JOIN THIS CLUB?

This club is (ONLY) for foreign and British diplomats living and working in London - or even just visiting on business or holiday - who would like to join a group that organizes purely INFORMAL social events in and around London.  That is what makes this club different to the other diplomatic associations out there...

WHAT KIND OF EVENTS CAN I ATTEND?

We organise dinners, cocktails in trendy wine-bars, Sunday brunches, afternoon walks, cinema and theatre evenings and even the odd day trip.  I guarantee that you will make new friends and discover fabulous new places to go in London! As we also have members from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, you will also make useful contacts with your host government.

Please note that we don't organize any fund-raising events, formal dinners or political debates: this group is all about fun, not work!

IS IT FREE TO JOIN?

Joining meetup - and this club - is free.  However, if you want to come to an event, you need to pay a £3 administration fee (electronically) when you RSVP.

WHAT IF I HAVE PROBLEMS JOINING THIS CLUB?

I work full-time, so I cannot reply to phone calls or emails about joining this club or the events we hold.  Everything is therefore done electronically, via this meetup site.

If you are finding it difficult to join, please just follow these instructions:

• google www.meetup.com
• click on SIGN UP, in the top right-hand corner of the meetup main page
• provide the 5 details they need, eg your name and a password etc
• once you have joined meetup (for free), search for LONDON INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMATS CLUB
• click on JOIN US
• answer the 3 short questions about who you are, which embassy you work for etc
• read about our future events by clicking on UPCOMING MEETUPS, on the left of this club's page
• click on I'M ATTENDING, then follow the simple instructions
• you will then get automatic confirmation that you have RSVP'd yes and will receive regular reminders or updated emails about this event
