This is an opportunity for up to 3 people to join me to watch the switch-on ceremony for the Oxford Street Christmas Lights. If you want a chance to come please make sure that you have answered the questions, so I know your name and mobile phone number (I will confirm you are coming by text message).
The meeting place will be at Starbucks on the 4th floor of the department store Selfridges on Oxford Street (nearest Tube: Bond Street): meet me there at about 3:30pm (by 4pm at the latest). My mobile number is 07984 257572.
The switching on of the Oxford Street Christmas Lights is a tradition which marks the start of the Christmas season in London. Top celebrities or performers perform on a stage before a switch is pressed and the lights are illuminated for the first time (they are then put on each afternoon/evening until 5th January - Twelfth Night).
This year singer/songwriter Jessie J will be performing some of her biggest hits outside Selfridges, before switching on of Oxford Street's new display of ‘snow flake’ inspired Christmas Lights. She’ll be joined on stage by international pop star Conor Maynard as well as last year's X-Factor winner James Arthur.
The event will start from 5pm with the "switch on" at 6.15pm, and will be hosted by Capital FM presenters Lisa Snowdon and Dave Berry
Note that this year the area in front of the stage will only be open to ticketholders and these tickets are already sold out (there will however be large screens you could watch from further away). Those who are joining me will need to enter together. This is an outdoor event so if you are attending you will need to wear suitable clothing, depending on the weather conditions (hat, gloves, umbrella etc).
