Let's spend an afternoon in Harrow-on-the-Hill. We will join a guided tour of one of England's most famous public schools (founded in 1572, and attended by many famous British people, including the poet Lord Byron and the politician Winston Churchill). This will be followed by a visit to a local tearoom.
The meeting time is at 1:00pm at Harrow-on-the-Hill station, near the ticket office. I will be wearing an orange scarf. My mobile number is [masked]. Harrow-on-the-Hill is on the Metropolitan line (in zone 5) - it is also served by Chiltern Railways trains from Marylebone.
Please pay £10 when you meet me. This covers the cost of the guided tour and the meetup fee. You will need to carry extra money for the tearoom.
This trip is limited to a maximum of 10 people. Please only RSVP Yes if you are sure you are attending, and make sure that you answer the questions so that I have your mobile phone number.
We will walk from Harrow-on-the-Hill station to Harrow-on-the-Hill (if the weather is poor we will take a bus instead). We will then join a guided tour of Harrow School from 2pm until about 3:30pm. From 4pm to about 5:30pm we will have tea in a local tearoom called The Doll's House, before walking back to Harrow-on-the-Hill station (we should arrive back there at about 6pm).
