This is the next section of the Thames Path: each month we will be walking a section along the River Thames.
This month the walk (of about 12 miles) is from Hampton Court to Staines.
You can leave the walk at Sunbury, Shepperton or Chertsey if you wish to finish earlier.
This event is organised jointly with EuroClub (represented by Thomas Eros): Thomas will be leading the walk (his photo is shown below).
Meet Thomas underneath the big round clock in Waterloo train station between 10:00-10:15 am.
We will catch the 10:27am train, arriving at Hampton Court at 11:03am. We cannot wait for you if you are late, because it is not fair on the others to delay the walk. Note: Hampton Court is in zone 6, so you can use an Oyster card for this part of the journey. For pay-as-you-go Oyster card users your cheapest option would be to buy a paper zones 1-6 one-day travelcard before making your first journey (there is a one-third discount if you have a railcard), then buy a single from Staines to Feltham to cover the part of the return journey which is outside zone 6.
* There are often engineering works at weekends. Please check your route to Waterloo using this link: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/journeyplanner *
If you wish you can join the train at one of the other stops, then get together with the group at Hampton Court station (or find us on the train):
10:27 London Waterloo
10:36 Clapham Junction
10:43 Wimbledon Station
10:46 Raynes Park
10:49 New Malden
11:00 Thames Ditton
11:03 Hampton Court
Return trains from Staines will end up at London Waterloo, but travel is via a different line, stopping at stations such as Feltham, Richmond and Clapham Junction.
We usually try to find a pub or cafe for a lunch break (if there are lots of us we will divide ourselves into smaller groups). Alternatively you may like to bring a sandwich with you to eat during the walk (you may not be allowed to eat this inside a pub or cafe).
Thomas' mobile number is [masked].
There is a £2 meetup charge for this event. Please pay Thomas or Mark when you see him. You will also need to bring enough cash for your Tube/train/bus tickets and meal/drinks.
Weather forecast for Hampton Court:
The main walk should end by about 6pm (depending on the speed at which we walk and how long is required for the lunchtime break).
Members are responsible for their own health and safety at all events organised by the London International Meetup group. Please always take care, and make sure that you have adequate health / travel insurance
