Let's make the most of this Bank Holiday Monday by making a trip to Hastings for the traditional Jack-in-the-Green festival. For photos from a similar trip, see:
Jack-in-the-Green is a traditional celebration of the coming of spring. Expect to see Jack (wearing the crown in the picture below), several giants (the mermaid figure below is one of the giants who protects Hastings), the Bogies, Morris dancing and much more.
We will see the final stage of the procession and watch some of the stage entertainment - optionally you can join me for a walk up on the East Cliff, before returning to see the "killing" of Jack.
The cost of this trip is £30. Please pay me in cash when you meet me at the station. This includes the cost of all transport and administration. You will need to bring some extra cash for food and drink or any optional attractions.
