Sickert and Shelley

The studio where Walter Sickert painted, and the site of the house where Mary Shelley ("Frankenstein") lived. Also the house where George MacDonald lived (writer of fairy stories).

We meet at "World's End" directly opposite Camden Town tube station. I'll be in the bar that is below ground level, called "Dining area". I shall be there from 7.00 pm till 7.30 pm, wearing a bright red shirt. If you are late or lost, phone me on[masked]-2932.

Walter Sickert is considered by some to be linked to Jack the Ripper. This story will start here and be continued in my July 2014 walk, when we get to Cleveland Street in Fitzrovia.

It drizzled the whole time and I made the walk too long. We had to give up at Mornington Crescent.

Such a shame, it was an excellent walk otherwise :)

Is there a maximUm (or indeed minimum)number for your walks Stephen?

RSVPs close when maximum number sign up? So what happens if some people then cancel and I wish to join you?

Once I get my life re-organised the most popular walks get repeated. Sadly this might be several months away.

    Hello Stephen,

I've received your message and I find it quite rude. I was just asking if there is a waiting list (meaning people replacing other walkers who cancel the attendance and change their RSVP). Simple. Some meet ups have waiting list some don't. Nothing to do with cancelling walks or getting crowded walks (the number of walkers will be the same as some are replaced by others). It was more like a yes/no question and I would have lived with a no.
I work in Customer Service and I see too many similar attitudes. I don't need to have it from what I thought is something related to Leisure and meet ups. And after all, you organize theses walks voluntary.

I will cancel the subscription in a minute (not that you need me tough).
    Have fun

The Waitlist software is rubbish. There would some point if the person who requested to be put on the list benefited, but they don't. Any vacated space goes to the first person who logs in. Nomatter how much I want you to have the slot, if some total stanger joins the group and jumps on the waiting list, they can then grab the slot ahead of you. Meanwhile the person who was waiting a long time, doesn't get the slot. It's like saying "Pass me the ball". If I kick it towards you, another player can intercept it. I therefore don't use "waitlist".

I'm going to have to bow out because I'm flying in from the US and will probably still be jet lagged...changing my RSVP now although I am real sad to do it. :(
