Defoe revisited

The prison where the author of "Robinson Crusoe" was jailed and the birthplace of the engraver/ satirist William Hogarth. Also the site of the "Fortune Theatre" built in 1600. The story of John Lilburne, a radical Libertarian. Also stuff about a Scottish hero.

By the way a "Magpie" is a thief, and "Stumps" are solicitors. I shall be waiting in the Magpie and Stumps from 7.30 pm till 8.00 pm, wearing a bright red shirt. If you are late or lost, phone me on[masked]-2932.

You know it's a really Literary Walk when Stephen bears a multiple-y bookmarked Moll Flanders! Fascinating literary and contemporary links and background.

I confused everyone by having two different times for the start. There was a bonus spectacle - a "Sherlock Holmes" phone box.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
