You want to see mountains? Lets go to The Lake District.
We'll climb the two highest mountains in England.
FRIDAY: ARRIVAL IN HELVELLYN
Leave London by car. Arrive in Lakes between 9pm and midnight.
Helvellyn is the 2nd highest peak in the Lake District. It is reached from Striding Edge, a spectacular ridge (see photo).
NB Routes may change, depending on weather conditions and the overall fitness level of the group.
SUNDAY: SCAFELL PIKE
The highest mountain in England, for those who still have some gas in the tank after Saturday.
It may not look huge in the picture above, but it is likely to take about 4 hours for us to summit. We will probably approach from the Seathwaite Farm side, the north.
Accommodation is at foot of Helvellyn. This is in shared dormitories of 4 to 8 people.
Cost includes: Accommodation, Guided Walks, 3 Breakfasts, 2 Packed Lunches, 1 Evening Meal
Cost excludes: Monday Lunch, Friday Evening Meal, Sunday Evening Meal
