Our first speaker confirmed for April is the awesome Adi Chikara, Product Innovation Lead for Localstars: offering automated advertising for website owners.
Localstars have been using MongoDB as their content delivery system "Merciless". Merciless has been live since 2011, and along the way has moved from PHP to node.js, with the latest alpha release using MongoDB geoSearch for Geo targeting.
Our second presentation of the evening comes from Iάσων "Iason" Μπακογιάννης on "Feature Vector Proximity using MongoDB",the local winner of the recent MongoDB London Hackathon. Iason will be showing how the geo-location capabilities of MongoDB can be used to locate places (restaurants) near a point in space (x,y), but what if we use this built-in feature of MongoDB to find the proximity of a document to other documents existing in multi-dimensional space?
