London MongoDB User Group 2012 Meetup #4

This month will be a series of lightning talks on a variety of topics:

Lightning talks

  • Managing Life Sciences Research Data with MongoDB - with Mark Woodbridge.
  • Real Time Analytics with MongoDB - with Julian Browne
Julian is the chief architect at Equal Experts and works on the projects at O2. He has been in the software industry for 25 years. Julian is a seasoned presenter, both factual and entertaining; you will not be disappointed!
  • Schema Design - And how this is being implemented at O2 - Chris Tarttelin
Chris also works on a project at O2. He's been working with Mongo for 2 years, since being introduced to it at PyCon 2010. Since then, he has been involved in 3 major NoSQL projects.
  • Agile Development with MongoDB - with Sean Reilly
Sean has used MongoDB at a number of clients over the past three years. He uses XP practices extensively in his day to day work and will show how MongoDB is a great fit for building software using a rigorous XP approach.

Want to give a quick shout out about your MongoDB project or talk for a few minutes about something you learnt using MongoDB? That's a lightning talk. Let us know if you want to present something!

There's a write up of the talks from Equal Experts on the EE blog: This has the links to Julian's code, the JSON validator code and Sean's presentation.

Thanks 10gen and David for organising a great meetup!

I thought it was great (disclaimer, I was one of the presenters). The venue was nice, the other presentations were quite interesting, and there were a ton of 10gen staff on hand to meet the community.
