Paleo friends and fellow meetupers,

Thank you for joining the London Paleo Group. The reason this group was started is because it has been difficult to find like minded people in London. So it's wonderful to see so many people in the group already.

We would like to meet you and introduce the rest of the London Paleo Group, so please join us at our inaugural event. This will be at the splendid Grill On The Market. Where they have delicious steak, seafood and all kinds of surprises. I have a membership which also includes discounts.

From the previously listed event some people informed us they could not attend weekend events. So this has been scheduled for Wednesday 7th November 2012, 7pm. If you can attend please RSVP by November 1st and indicate how many people you will bring

For those attending please bring your favourite recipe. To those who are not able to attend please let us know where and when would be better as we would like to include you in the next event.

Looking forward to meeting you.

London Paleo Group.

Another amazing thing I recently found, butter tea! At some point I stumbled over this article:
    http://www.bulletproofexec.com/how-to-make-your-coffee-bulletproof-and-your-morning-too/
And I thought, I don’t really like coffee, so I thought about making a similar thing with tea and what brought a quick google search:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butter_tea
So yeah, I don’t prepare it like this, I usually mix white or green (and sometimes pu-erh or oolong) tea with some grass fed butter and coconut-oil. Tastes really yummy and is really warming.
That’s it for now, if I find more time I will write down an amazing, mouth-watering stew recipe.

Great to meet everyone; the time really did seem to fly by. Looking forward to the next event whenever/wherever that may be. Now on to trying out the newly acquired recipes - yum!!

You throw in the fat, then depending on what veggies you use, you throw that in first (e.g. onions, leeks, mushrooms, carrot, etc. So in general veggies, which need more cooking/don’t lose much nutrition with longer cooking), stir-fry it for a while. Meanwhile put the herbs/spices on your meet, e.g. black pepper, rosemary and Italian herbs or Indian spices (e.g. garam masala), ground cumin is also brilliant and recently I found this Caribbean curry spice-mix that is really amazing. After stir-frying that for a minute or so, throw in the other veggies, such as broccoli, cauliflower, red cabbage, spinach, kale, sauerkraut (!) etc. whatever you have available/feel like. You can also mix it up with some chopped tomatoes. That’s it and now get cooking!

Wonderful meeting! Shame we had to split up, but Seems like everyone had a great time. Looking forward to the next meeting and will post some ideas.
In the meantime here some of my recipes... Unfortunately I have to split it off into multiple posts. Anyway, here we go:

    The never-boring Student stir-fry
This is my current amazing go-to recipe. It is quick, good and can be easily mixed it up.
    So the basic ingredients:
    • Butter (I sometimes mix it with goose fat, you could probably also try it with coconut oil depending on the herbs/spics you use)
    • Lots of different veggies
    • Beef or Lamb mince (sometimes I mix in some liver and recently I started mixing in some chorizo... simply amazing!)
    • Herbs/spices
So key to this recipe are the different veggies and the herbs/spices, since that can make the taste really different.

A great mix of people, and excellent food, it was good to hear the story of everyone's different journeys into paleo. A shame we we had to split over 2 tables of 12 & 4. I would have liked to speak with everyone.

We are meeting at 6.30pm, if possible. No problems if you can only make 7pm!
