Coding Dojo on Section 1.3

  • Jan 30, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

The real SICP excitement starts in the next section, 1.3: Higher Order Procedures.  Many of these ideas have [finally] made their way to other languages, exempli gratia Python and Ruby, but we'll be looking at them in detail in this section.

If you've never joined us before, please note that you're welcome to pop and and we'd love to have you. Just ensure that you're comfortable with Lisp-type programming and the material covered in Sections 1.1-1.2.

After a short discussion of the material covered in the book, we'll break out into pairs for a strict coding dojo: I'll present a few problems from the book and let you work on them in pairs. After a few minutes, someone with a solution will walk us through it. Use of google, twitter, wikipedia, et cetera is strongly discouraged.

Please read the section or watch lecture 2A: Higher Order Procedures before coming.

Unfortunately, we have a slightly smaller room this week, so I've had to decrease the number of places available.

You too! Could you please create a new repository for 1.3 so I can make a pull request? I think One repository per chapter will be better though.

Or better still, one repository with folders. Your choice!
