At DRL we currently use Scrum as part of the development phase of our projects i.e. to track that delivery of a solution is broadly on track using a burndown chart. Much of the upfront elements of our project process is waterfall based, with requirements being captured and documented in use case form. We do use user stories for some projects when requested by the development team, although it isn't currently our 'standard' approach. The business I work in is project focused, and although we can chunk their projects down into smaller deliverables they are more interested in the delivery of an overall 'chunk' of work rather than the smaller elements within a project. I am responsible for managing the backlog of work within our business so it would also be interesting to understand options to approach this with a company that understands projects better than user stories or epics.

Hi, I'm Matt and am head of projects at a company called DRL Limited. We use some elements of Scrum in the delivery of our software development projects and I am interested in learning and applying more of these principles in our overall process.
