A peaceful walk through the peaceful undulating Cotswold countryside around Moreton-Marsh including a pub lunch on a traditional country pub dating from the 17th Century.
Meet at 7.50 at the ticket office at London Paddington station to catch 08.21 train to Moreton-in-Marsh. (The reason for the early start is that the next train to Moreton doesn't leave for another two hours meaning an arrival time of midday - too late a start to fit the walk in!) arriving 10.00. Walk is circular so we return again via Moreton-in-Marsh station, arriving back in London in the evening.
As is normal we will be travelling on Group Save tickets which mean that the standard return fare of £31.50 return fare to Moreton will be reduced to £15.75 (Group of 4 travelling a price of 2) or £21.00 (3 for 2)
The Lunch stop is at the Bakers Arms Pub at Broad Campden at approx. 12pm after about 6 miles walking.
Waterproof shoes such as walking boots are recommended - as is a waterproof jacket.
It is impossible to state a specific return time as this depends on the traffic, weather conditions, the general pace of the group and other unplanned factors. Those who decide to join the hike should consider themselves committed for the entire day. Thanks.
