Socrates Cafe is a philosophy discussion group that is open to absolutely everyone. It's held in a casual cafe environment and we encourage everyone to join in - but there's no obligation to do so. We're bringing philosophy back to the people!
It's a moderated open discussion about a topic that we choose together on the night. The sessions are facilitated to try to keep everything on topic and give all attendees a chance to speak (if they want to).
Socrates cafe is not about finding a definitive answer to the topic question (although answers are nice when we find them). It's more about us voicing our opinions, bringing our assumptions to the surface, questioning our own beliefs (and biases), and hearing other people's opinions. At the end of the discussion, attendees should have a better understanding of the question at hand as well as of their own thoughts and beliefs (and maybe even the gaps in their opinions).
Membership is open to everyone

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
