Love the outdoors? Want to learn how to find, identify and gather wild food?
Join us for this fun and informative half-day session we booked with Wilderness Events!
The session has been designed for complete beginners, completely practically based and outdoors.
This event is being co-hosted with Adventure Go!,the other Meetup group that I run.
We will spend our time walking the woodland, fields and hedge rows of wild country park with one of Wilderness Events expert instructors who will point out various foods of the season and even offer some to sample. The information gleaned in your pursuit for basic survival will also extend to rudimentary field medicines too.
Refreshments (tea & coffee) will be provided during the course, but you will need to bring your own food.
The session lasts cca 3 hours, and after the session, we have a choice of catching a taxi to Eastbourne, and spending a few hours enjoying the beach OR walk to Eastbourne (join the South Downs trail over Seven Sisters cliffs and Beachy Head, around 9 miles / 14 km). We can decide on the day what most of the group wants to do.
What to bring:
• Suitable shoes or walking shoes if you’d like to walk back to Eastbourne later
• Clothes suitable for walking/hiking and some waterproofs
• Sun cream, sunglasses and/or sun hat
• snacks and packed lunch
• Money for the train ticket, refreshments and drinks
• Sense of fun and adventure!
