I hope you're all enjoying the heatwave!
This month, we're back at Mind Candy's offices in Shoreditch. We'll be kicking off at 7pm and have two speakers lined up. Hopefully we'll have some time for a few open mics too, so if you're interested in demoing your project, let me know!
Julian Williams: WizDish
Our first speaker is Julian Williams who will be demonstrating the WizDish which is currently on Kickstarter. Julian has 35 years engineering experience. Starting in electronics he later gained an MSc in Computing. Most of his career has been with the BBC and Siemens, living and working in Britain and the USA. He delivers mission critical control systems to top tier clients including the BBC, BSkyB, ITV, Associated Press and DIRECTV. He is a Member of the IET and is passionate about interface design and Virtual Reality.
Russ Morris : A talk of two halves
Making projects in your spare time + iOS Provisioning, Game Center, Dev Portal and Sales...
At the start of the year, Russ made some promises to himself. First, to make a small project in his spare time and release it on the App store, the second was to stop talking in the third person. Russ is very pleased to say he managed to do one of these things.
In this talk, Russ will begin by taking a look at what he's learned from his commitment to completing 'out of office' projects. With his third game of the year, 'ColourFall' just about to be completed Russ will talk about the changes in approach and a few Unity tricks that helped achieve effective results in a short time-frame.
The second part of the talk will focus on iOS development, and in particular, knowing what the hell to do with provisioning profiles, game center achievements, leader boards and dealing with submissions.
There'll probably be some other random stuff thrown in there too...
After the event, we'll be heading to The Windmill, which is just around the corner from the Mind Candy offices.
See you next Thursday!
