*Booking is open from 7pm Wednesday April 30th to allow everyone chance to get a spot, not just those who check their email 300 times a day.*
All right stop, collaborate and listen, LUUG is back at a brand new venue courtesy of the guys at Space Ape Games. We have two talks planned for this meeting, the first from Space Ape themselves and the second from Russ Clarke at West London Games
Space Ape talk about the journey of their next-gen Content Management System, built from the team's learnings from Playfish and Mind Candy. From the early days of integrating Google docs into Unity, the evolution through beta and live, the joy and pain it caused and some ideas about the future direction of it for their next game.
In our second talk, Russ Clarke tells the ‘story so far’ of West London Games, from quitting his Creative Director post at Ideaworks Game Studio (aka Marmalade) 18 months ago, to surviving on occasional consultancy jobs while trying to raise money, to the formation and seed funding of WLG, and current status with raising full production finance for their Unity-based debut title: TerraTech. Russ also gives a light technical overview of TerraTech and the systems and workflows evolved to support a distributed team, with limited programmer time. The demo will be available afterwards for anyone to play.
We will also have about 6 five-minute slots for Open Mic so if you're looking to demo your projects, seek contacts or generally show something Unity related, please drop me a message via here or through twitter @darrenlloydgent
The venue is a bit smaller than the demand will no doubt call for, but the June 5th LUUG will be at the University of Greenwich with a capacity of 120 and some great talks already lining up.
Afterwards we'll be moving onto the Monatgu Pyke for post meeting drinks and networking.
If you book a place and can't make it, please release your place as soon as you know.
